When starting an Adwords or PPC campaign in general, you need to take the time to implement the system and technique I am about to explain. Google and the other major PPC networks rewards the advertisers that create relevant “targeted campaigns” because they feel that these are ones that will convert the best.

Well, Google has been right more times than not with their business models. You may not agree with everything they do, but PLEASE, and I say PLEASE don’t fight that fight. You don’t need to, so its better to understand what will make them “HAPPY”.

Using the Common Keyword Technique will increase your quality rating with these PPC networks and allow you to have lower minimum bids on your keywords and most importantly convert at a higher rate. . By doing this you may end up paying substantially less than your competitors as well. When you are talking about 100’s or 1000’s of clicks, that’s huge!

In Google’s circumstance they take pride in returning high quality, highly relevant search results to its users. Because of this, the more relevant ads are given a higher Quality Score and the better your ad will perform. As mentioned, you will pay lower per click prices and your ad will be positioned higher than an ad with a lower Quality Score.

Keep in mind, the idea of a PPC campaign is to get clicks. There is no sense having an active campaign and its not getting any clicks. The idea is you spend to make. But, spending less always makes it that much easier.

So How Do I Use The Common Keyword Technique?

It is fairly simple but most affiliate marketers fail to follow this technique and leave a lot of money on the table. A campaign has 2 levels. The first is the campaign level and then the Ad Group Level. A single campaign may have several different Ad Groups within it.

By using the Keyword Technique, you need to group the keywords together for each Ad Group. This grouping is based on 2+ keywords.

If done right, your campaign may look something like this:

Campaign Name: WealthyAffiliate.com

Ad Group Name: Make Money Home

Keywords:

make money at home

[make money at home]

“make money at home”

make money home business

[make money home business]

“make money home business”

make money from home

[make money from home]

“make money from home”

way to make money from home

[way to make money from home]

“way to make money from home”

By the way, that was actually very similar to a previous campaign that did quite well. If you notice, all the keywords within the Ad Group has the 3 common words “Make Money Home” and the ad has the same 3 words in the title, and body. By doing this your keywords will be highlighted when your ad is displayed thus improving your click-through rate. It is also a good idea to name the Ad Group with the “common keywords” as sample above.
